Student Success Statement: Thomas S. Monson

“ You can't be right by doing wrong; you can’t be wrong by doing right.” - Thomas s. Monson

I agree with Thomas Monson, you can’t be right by doing the wrong thing. It is impossible to do something that is wrong and be right. And you can’t do something right and be wrong. What this means is whatever you action is, if it is wrong, you know that this can’t be the right thing to do. We all know the difference between right and wrong, but we choose to ignore it. Why do we ignore it? That is the question. Why do we do it? We do it because we are scared. We do it for many reasons but the main reason is because we are terrified. We are scared that if we do the right thing someone will judge you. We think that someone will think less of us, but that is not true. Everyone has flaws, we all make mistakes. But that is something different. What I’m saying is that we are all different. Nobody is the same.  We are all different from one another, so embrace your differences.

Student Success Statement: Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

“ Enthusiasm makes the difference.”- Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

I agree with Dr. Norman, being enthusiastic can make things different. Enthusiasm can make things much more enjoyable. You can go hiking or go explore, but the thing that makes it fun is enthusiasm. You don’t have to make things boring for yourselves, you can enjoy the things you do. It can make a difference to your life, or the way you see things. All you need is enthusiasm. It may sound hard for some people but it's really not. You just have to think about the things that you could or would like to do with your day. Make it interesting for yourselves. Challenge yourselves, don’t just sit there. If you don’t have anything to do, find something helpful to do. You can do many things in just one day. It all depends on you. It depends on you whether you're really willing to try.

Student Success Statement: Dean Smith

“ I wasn’t trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right. “- Dean Smith

I think Dean Smith was a good person. He was a person that did not think about himself first. He thought about how others might feel. He showed that he cares about other people and that he is an honest person. This quote shows us, the readers that he did what he thought was right. He didn’t do anything because of the fame or because he wanted to be known. He did it because he knows how it feels when you lose something. He clearly states that he wasn’t trying to do anything all he wanted to do was the right thing. I think he is a kind and thoughtful person. He kept an open mind for how others felt. He showed a lot of people and proved to them that he was unselfish and that he really cared about how others felt. He is a person that anyone would like to be or know personally. He is a huge role model for many people that want to be like him.

Student Success Statement: Dr. Randy Pausch

“ It’s not about how to achieve your dreams. It’s about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the RIGHT WAY, the karma( good results, destiny, fortune, good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you. “ - Dr. Randy Pausch

What this quotes significance means is that life will eventually work itself out for you. I'm not saying that life will be easy for you or that everything you want will come to you. What I’m saying is that if you work hard and do things the right way the first time, you will make your world a whole lot easier. You wouldn’t need to worry  about going back and doing it all over again because you got to lazy or discouraged to do it. You wouldn’t need to go back and do it again because you did it the first time. Life itself isn’t easy for anyone, we all have bumps on the road or adventure. We all have struggles in our life, but as time passes we learn a thing or two about how it should be done. We learn because we listen and pay attention. So our lives are not easy simple as that. But along the way, as time passes, your life will work itself out and you will have no regrets. You will look back and see that your life turned out pretty good.

Student Success Statement: Theodore Roosevelt

“ Of all the work that is done or that can be done for our country, the greatest is that of educating the BODY, the MIND, and above all the CHARACTER, giving spiritual and moral training to those who in a few years are themselves to decide the destinies of the nation. “-Theodore Roosevelt

What i think the significance of this quote is to tell us, remind us of who we are and what we want to be in the future. It gives us a reminder that we all have a different personality. And we all have different ways in looking at things, but we all have a body, mind, and character, when i think of these three words i think about our society. Mind, we all have a brain that we use everyday and every second of our lives. It gives us a sense in what to do, and how to do it. Body, we use it do things as well. There are better ways to use our bodies instead of wasting time like making holes through it or marking ourselves. Character, our character tells everyone what and how we are. We need to use our characters for good things, instead of being rude all the time. We can use it in so many ways that we didn’t even know. We can use all these things to help a person, or help yourself. You can use these strategies to help a person that is in need. We all have these things and sometimes we don’t use them because we are scared that we might not fit in or think that we are weak. So we build a wall to hide how we really feel. We need to stop hiding or wasting our lives, you are the key.

Student Success Statement: Mr. C. S. Haymore

“ Take responsibility for YOUR OWN body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.”- Mr. C.S. Haymore

I agree with this quote. What this quote is telling us is to be responsible. Be responsible for your own things. We need to take responsibility for our own being. Taking responsibility means you will not need to depend on anyone in the future. Taking responsibility means not needing anyone to take care of you. Because you are already dependable on  yourself. You don’t need anyone to be pushing you or telling you what to do. Because you already know what you need to do. You know mentally that you need to do things. Your mind will remind you when it needs to. It will remind you of what you need to do automatically. You don’t need anyone. All you need is your body, mind, and spirit.
