I agree with William Penn, you can’t do something that is wrong and still feel happy after it. The right thing to do makes you feel more satisfied with yourself, it tells you that you did something right for once and doing that can help other people feel happy. You knowing that something is wrong and you still go for it, means you are not capable of having respect. You are not capable of having respect for yourself or any other person. It shows even less respect for the people that you love, it shows them that you have no respect for them and that you simply don’t care. You may think that since everyone is doing the wrong thing that it is okay for you to do it. Yet you have a decision to do the right thing even if other people may not agree with you. You have to stand up for yourself and other people, you have to put yourself first if it's about your health. You don’t want to do the wrong thing because it has consequences. Everything you do has consequences, that is why you have to think before you act.

What this quotes significance is to tell us that what we want most in the world can be accomplished. I agree with Peter Vidmar, you can accomplish anything in the world if you are set to do it. The only way to achieve the impossible, is to be believe its possible. We have to try and keep trying if what you want most in the world is hard to achieve, you try. If you don't achieve it learn from your mistakes and keep trying. You have to set your mind to it and on the way you might have to give up on other things to focus on the thing you want most. You may want to take the time to do what you want the most and practice. don't be scared that you might not get it the first time, try and be brave. Don't be scared because you think another person is better than you. You have to prove to yourself that you are capable of doing the same things any person can do and more. You can do many things in the world and achieve them, it can take time. You just have to be patient with yourself and learn from yourself.

Homecoming

School Homecoming  

1.Definition of homecoming- Homecoming is a dance, or other event in which alumni are invited. Usually in late September or October .

2. History of homecoming- The tradition of Homecoming has its origin in alumni football games held at colleges and universities since the 19th century. Homecoming started as a way to celebrate a banquet, football game, or on occasion ice hockey or soccer. Chester brewer invited all alumni to “come home” for a game in 1911.

3.We celebrate homecoming to welcome alumni back to the school

4. Events related to school homecoming-  

• Winter Formal
• Prom

5. Why Homecoming game? They usually consists of a football game played  on the school’s home football field. A parade featuring the school’s marching band.

6. Homecoming Etiquette- you must dress in semi-formal attire. For males it's a suit,   females can wear anything from a dressy skirt to a cocktail dress.

My opinion on homecoming is not much. I don’t like to be involved in a place that is crowded and full of loud music.

What the significance of this quote means is that you get the choice in who you want to be. You have to choose who you want to be as a person, and if you want to leave "a mark" in the world. For me "a mark" means that you want to be remembered by a lot of people. You want them to remember all the good things you did in life. You want to make a good thing out of your name, you want people to here your name and think of you as a good person. You can do many things in life, but that won't give you a place in the world that tells other people how kind, or brave you were. You can be brave and sky dive and do other daring things but that doesn't mean you are honored by many people. It doesn't mean that you were a good person and did a lot of amazing things. In order to leave a mark in this world you have to do something that benefits you and other people.

What I think this quotes significance is to tell us that it all depends on a persons actions. It tells us that we choose who we get to be, a good person out of ourselves or a bad person out of ourselves. It is our choice if we want to make our names out of a joke. We are the one's to decide if we do the right thing, and be a respectful person or we treat others in a rude way. If you want to be known as a person that is respectful and honest, we have to act like it. We are not going to get nowhere in life if we cheat our way through it. We will not learn anything if we don't try ourselves. We are not going to cheat our way through life and learn just by cheating, we need to challenge ourselves to be able to learn on our own. We need to put ourselves out into the world and learn from our mistakes and do what is right for yourself and for others. We have a choice to be known as a person that is good and kind or honest and tries hard to do the right thing, or be the bad person. We disrespect our parents or siblings, we talk back to other people and never do anything.

Health Educator

Duties and responsibilities: Health Educators work to encourage healthy lifestyles and wellness through educating individuals and communities about behaviors that promote healthy living and prevent diseases and other health problems. They attempt to prevent illnesses by informing and educating individuals.  

Salary: $58,964

Education: It is common for health educators to hold master’s degrees. Students in the field tend to take classes in human development, psychology, and social work.

Demand for this profession: A Bachelor’s degree is required at minimum and some employers may prefer candidates who also are Certified Health Education Specialist.  A health Educator must pass a competency- based exam administered by the national Commission of Health Education Credentialing .

Reflection: I see myself in the future helping out people. I just don’t see myself as helping someone out in this career.

What this quotes significance means to stand up for yourself and for others. It doesn't matter if you do it alone, what matters is what you did, if you prevented it, or if you helped it occur. I agree with Thomas S. Monson, it is true that many people are cruel, there are so many people in the world that are bad. We don't know what kind of people the world holds until we see for ourselves. We have to be aware that there are a little bit of people that are good and kind. We may or may not know who these people are, but we know that they exist. You get to decide in the world who you want to be. Which group would you want to be in? The pure and kind one or the evil and wrong one? You have to decide when the time is right, you will decide if you want to help or destroy the very own world you live in. We choose and we want to help and make people feel wanted. You help people and stand up with them and face the people that don't want to help, the ones that want to cause destruction to the world they live in.

Duties and Responsibilities: A dentist provides oral health services and children. Dentist work with patients to promote dental health. Most dentists are general practitioners who perform exams, fill in cavities, and extract teeth.

Education: Some dentists choose to study a subspecialty, such as orthodontics. Most dentists obtain an undergraduate degree before completing a four year dental program and earning a doctoral degree.  Students usually take science courses in biology, anatomy, chemistry, microbiology.

Demand for this profession:  A Bachelor’s Degree prior to admission to dental school. A doctoral degree in dental medicine or dental surgery. You have to be licensed in all states to be in this career. You must submit Dental Admission Test scores with your application.

Reflection: I see myself in the future helping someone that is in need of help. I just don’t see myself helping someone in this career.

What this quotes significance is to tell us that as long as we always do the right thing we will be a good person. If we are willing to give up something you want so bad to help another person, you will feel good. You have to be willing to give up anything and take the risks to be a good person. Being a kind person not only shows other people who you are, but it shows yourself who you are as a person. It shows yourself what you are capable of doing for another person, you help and take risks and you put yourself out there. You show yourself that you can do so much more than you think you can. As you realize this you as a person get to understand that you can be kind. Its like when you get in your comfort zone with your friends after a while. You feel more relaxed and you express yourself more than you did before. You do things that make you happy and show who you are, and that is the same thing as being a kind person. You expand your limits to really test, and challenge yourself because that is what you want for your life. You want to improve yourself along the way and never hold back from doing something that makes you happy. You do it because it makes you feel happy and not because you want something in return.
 

Environmental Health Specialist

Environmental Health Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities: Environmental Health and safety specialist protect the well being of the public and the environment by ensuring the environmental regulations and workplace safety standards are met. These professionals often work for the federal, state or local government. These workers often put themselves in dangerous or stressful situations in order gauge levels of safety.

Salary:$70,210

Education: The U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics stated that most employers require environmental health and safety specialists to earn a bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety or comparable discipline, such as biology and chemistry. Students in these programs typically complete classes in math, physics and chemistry.  

Demand for this profession: They need to have a bachelor’s degree, their degree field can be occupational health, or or a comparable scientific discipline. Work experience is important through internships or otherwise.

Reflection: I do see myself in the future as helping people around me. I just don’t see myself in this position in helping others.

What this quotes significance is to tell us that if we want something, we have to be capable of working for it. Us as humans are always going to have that necessity of wanting something in our life. Some things that we want are useless or pointless, or they can be useful at some point. If we want something really bad, we by ourselves have to be capable of working hard for it. We get this feeling that we need something to feel complete or satisfied. If you want something and you know its going to be useful and help you in life you have to work for it. No one else is going to work for something you want. You have to depend on yourself to get things done. You don't think about another person doing it for you because in the end you won't learn from it. You have to be willing to try to work and learn new things from your experiences. You set a goal to help you focus on it and achieve it. If you think the goal you set it achievable you do it. If you believe it is not achievable take a chance, and see if you were right or wrong. Take a chance to challenge yourself in the world, because in the end it is you who you have went through all the hard work and sacrifices for, not for someone else, but for yourself.  

Columbus Day

Columbus Day

Christopher Columbus was an explorer and navigator, he was the son of a wool merchant. He was born in Genoa in about 1951, when he was a teenager he got a job on a merchant ship. Christopher Columbus made four trips across the Atlantic Ocean from Spain: in 1492, 1493, 1498, and 1502. He was determined to find a water route west from Europe and Asia. On August 3, 1492, Columbus and his crew sailed on three ships: The Nina, The Pinta, and The Santa Maria. In May 1498 Christopher was arrested  when he returned to Hispaniola, the colonists had staged a bloody revolt against his two brothers: Bartolomeo and Diego. It was so bad that Spanish authorities had to send a new governor in to take over. In 1502 Columbus had been cleared of the serious charges and went to the Spanish King to pay one last trip, the king agreed, and later when Columbus returned he died in 1506. Columbus Day is the day we celebrate the anniversary of Christopher Columbus and his arrival in the Americas October 12, 1492. The landing day is celebrated in the United States, as the Dia de la Hispanidad. Many Italian Americans celebrate this day as their heritage.

Reflection: I think this day is an important day but also a day full of sorrow because of the way African Americans. These people were treated as slaves, they were misjudged and mistreated.

What this quote means is that no matter what mistakes we make, small or big, there is always a chance to fix it. There is a chance always given for you, but you are the one who gets to choose your decision. You have to choose between the two choices you are given. If you make obedience your goal, you have to follow it, because that is the only goal you really have to depend on. You depend on this goal to help you through your life. As your knowledge grows you want to challenge it, to make it stronger. That is what you have to do with your life. You have to challenge yourself and do things that you are not expecting to do. You have to part with things along the way, and listen to yourself when you say something is wrong. If you know something is wrong, you know you have to stay away from it. If you know something id good for you but you don't want to do it, you get to make the choice, but you will have to face the consequences that come after your actions. You will have to face the world alone one day, and then you realize that you should have chosen the right one. The one you knew was best for you, and you still didn't choose it because you were thinking about the fun you will have or about yourself in that moment, and not the future.

Nursing Assistant

Duties and responsibilities: A certified nursing assistant, or CNA, helps patients or clients with healthcare needs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Job responsibilities vary based on where you work and live. CNAs often work in a wide variety settings: nursing homes, hospitals, adult day care centers, personal homes and assisting living facilities. They have to administer medications or treatments, clean and sanitize patients rooms, bathrooms, examination rooms, or other patients areas. They also have to document or report observations of patients behaviors, complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.

Salary:$69,790

Education: Training to become a CNA is offered by community colleges, online schools, and through medical facilities. CNA training programs can cost several  thousands dollars but it is helpful to get financial aid. After completing training you will take an exam that challenges both your book knowledge and practical skills that were taught during training.

Demand for this profession: To obtain a nursing assistant job, you must have a high school diploma, or GED, and at least some form of post-secondary nursing instructions. This can be obtained from a variety of institutions, including online schools, community college, trade schools, and so on. Students are also required to pass an examination for their certification. A degree is not required but they help the students to be prepared for the responsibilities as well provide a path to career advancement later.

Reflection: I do see myself in the future as helping people in a way. I just don’t really see myself as helping people in this career.

What this quote means to me is you have to be willing to try new things. You have to be willing to try new things and be conflicting about it. If it turns out wrong you have to think to yourself what did i do wrong? What can i do next time to make it better?  You have to think of all the possibilities are and what they can be. You have to try new things and put yourself out there for the world. To show people and yourself that you are capable of doing more things that you think you can do. You have to be brave and experiment, to see how things turn out. If you don't try new things, you will never know what was to come after it, and later in the future you would ask yourself What do i regret more, doing it, or not doing it? You have to believe in yourself and do what you think is best. You have to do what you believe in to get better at doing it, you do it so that you can improve.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Duties and responsibilities:  Emergency Medical Technicians also known as (EMT) are terms used in many countries to denote a health care provider. EMTs are clinicians, trained to respond quickly to emergency situations regarding medical issues, traumatic injuries, and accident scenes. EMTs are mostly found in working in ambulances, they are often employed by ambulance services, governments, and hospitals.

Salary:$19,534- $38.073

Education: A high school diploma or a CPR  or cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification are both mandatory requirements for EMT programs. You will have to take courses in anatomy, physiology. Formal training is provided by community colleges, technical institutes and other establishments. There are four levels of EMT training they are The EMT Basic training, The advanced EMT level, and  The PAramedic Level.

Demand for this profession: A high school diploma or a CPR  or cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification are both mandatory requirements, and a clean criminal record.  All  emergency medical technicians must be certified by the NAtional Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians., before practicing. Becoming licensed entails formal training at the EMT Basics   

Reflection: I do not see myself in the future as a EMT. I do see myself in helping other people, but not in this career.
