Student Success Statement: Brigham Young

“ True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what’s right. “- Brigham Young

I agree with Brigham Young when he states this quote. It's not what he says but what this means. You can be independent and free if we choose right. We have a choice and that choice leads to other choices. There is no better way to live life if it isn’t the right way. That is if you choose to go to college, not cheat, help others, and do plenty of other things that are good. Independence is a form of saying you are old enough to do things. But if you are constantly doing the wrong for example, doing drugs than you are not being independent. That is because when you are responsible enough to know the difference between right and wrong, you will have your freedom. Freedom's just another word for saying responsibility. You decide if you want freedom.

Student Success Statement: George Chapman

“ They’re only truly great who are truly good. “ - George Chapman

I agree with george when he states this. This quote is truly powerful, it has a great meaning. I think this quote has many meanings but there is one that truly stands out.  All good becomes greatness and all greatness has good within it. If you cheat your way through life to become something great, you are cheating your way through consequences. Cheating may get you somewhere, a place that you think you deserve. But if you think about what you did, you will see there is no meaning to be in that place that you wanted because you didn’t work for it. There is always going to be a person that cheats and people may do the same. But it doesn’t mean you have to do it too. You don’t have to follow everyone, do what you think is right, be yourself.

Student Success Statement: George Mitchell

“ Many think that the short term gain will be worth the long term pain, but it isn’t. In addition, using steroids is cheating, and there is no worse sports than a cheater don’t do it. “-George Mitchell

This statement was made by George Mitchell who isn't wrong at all. When you win something you should have the honor to win it with dignity and knowing that you did good all by yourself not with steroids. In the matter of fact steroids are temporary and will not last as long as you wish they would. You know how some things are too good to be true well this is one of them. Yes steroids can help you achieve the things your body can't normally do, but later on in life your health will result the negative of this drug. However, cheating does not only apply steroids ir for athletes, it can also include a student, teacher, or any normal person who urges to do something and cheat even though it is not right. We all know the difference between right and wrong, so what’s stopping us ?

Student Success Statement: Dale Murphy

“ I won’t cheat. “- Dale Murphy

I think this statement is very powerful, it has more meaning than what it just says. When i see this statement i see a bunch of letters. But it you look closely you can see what this truly means. It means being respectful, to yourself and others, loyalty, and honor. These are not just words they are you title, your placement. They are important. If you want something badly, it would be easier to work hard on it. Working hard for something that you want, is better than cheating. When you cheat or do something that is wrong, you have this feeling afterwards. I would rather work for it instead of facing the negative consequences that come after the wrong choice. You save yourself from the consequences that come within the action.

Student Success Statement: Dale Murphy

“ Character matters most. “- Dale Murphy

I agree with Dale because character is what shows other people who you are. It doesn’t just show other people it shows yourself. It shows yourself what kind of person you are. Whether it is kind or not. There comes a point in your life where you have to stop and reflect on yourself. If you don’t like who you are for specific reasons change them. If you think something is wrong with the way you act, figure out what it is and change it. You don’t have to change because someone told you to, change because you want to. Your character is what matters most, you may not see it but other people do. You think nobody's watching but there is always someone watching. It is possible it is a person that went through what you did or are going through. Change who you are because character is what defines you.

Student Success Statement: Benjamin Franklin

“ Great beauty, great strength, and great riches are really and truly of no great use; a right heart exceeds all. “- Benjamin Franklin

I agree with Benjamin Franklin when he states this quote. I believe we all get second chances. More like a number of second chances, but we do get them. It's not up to you to decide whether you are forgiven or not. But it is your decision to learn from your mistakes. We people tend to make many mistakes, we can’t count them all but we all know when we make a mistake. Yet we still do it. Why do we do it? That is the real question. We can do it for many reasons like peer pressure or you trying to change. There are tons of reasons on why we could and would do it. But there is truly no good excuses ever in the world to get us out of it. We only succeed if we do what is right. We don’t succeed because we do something that is wrong.

Student Success Statement: James Freeman Clarke

“ It may make a difference to all eternity whether we do right or wrong today. “ - James Freeman Clarke

I agree with James Clarke, when he states this quote. You are always going to have to make decisions. Whether you are ready to face them or not. You may want to avoid them but I’ve learned that there is no way of avoiding them. They will always come back to you whether you like it or not. The choices you make can affect you or anyone around you in a good or bad way. You have to choose wisely. You have to think about what will happen if you choose one over the other. Doing what is right is so much better than not choosing what is right. It is not worth choosing bad and later facing the consequences. It is not worth you struggling in life when you could have had it so easy. You wouldn’t have to be struggling every time. My advice is to think about your choice before you make it.

Student Success Statement: Charles Ketterer

“ The best way to predict your future is to create it. “- Charles Ketterer

I agree with charles quote. I believe we all have choices. Those choices lead to other choices, and those to others and so forth. Every decision you make opens up new ones and lead different ways. Every decision you make can either affect your life in a positive or a negative way. I believe we should make our own decisions, make our own paths. We should be able to explore and go past our boundaries. We need to push ourselves to truly now what we want. We need to question ourselves and decide if we want to follow a path like everyone else and not be happy. Or we can make our paths and learn from our mistakes along the way. We need to make our own future so that it can be the best. “ We have all this time and more.” i used to agree with that. Not anymore, life is too short. We need to enjoy it while we still can, think about ourselves and expand the boundaries. We have all the world, but not all the time in the world.

“ Ask yourself is it right or wrong and act accordingly. “-Otto Graham, Jr.

I think this quote is very important. It is important because it defines who you are. If shows people what type of person you are. It can either say Kind and caring, or Rude and uncaring. I believe we all have a significance in this world. And once we find it, we have to make it our responsibility to fulfill it. We either take responsibility or we ignore it. Once we determine what that is, we see the world differently. The world is the same, you're the one that’s different. We all have a choice, and that choice leads to even more decisions.
