Veterans Day
Veterans Day is an official United States public holiday, observed annually on November 11, in which we honor military veterans . Military veterans are are people who served in the United States Armed Forces. It is important to honor veterans day because we are showing our gratefulness for the people that have risked their lives to protect this country. We show gratefulness for the people who have sacrificed themselves without knowing if they may or may not come back. There are several ways to show respect on Veterans Day like saying “ thank you “. It is such a small gesture but they do appreciate it. You can also place flags or flowers on a veterans grave, or proudly display your American Flag, display a yellow ribbon on your clothes, or even take a moment of silence to honor those who have lost their lives to protect our freedom.
Reflection: I feel very grateful for those who have given up their lives and risked them to protect our freedom. It is really hard to imagine all those people that have past away and know that they died protecting our freedom. They died knowing that they might not return to their families, and they don’t know when they will come back.
