Student Success Statement: Dr. Ben Carson

“ I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and i can change that ( poverty ). It depends on how hard I want to work, and I decided that I wanted to change it. “- Dr. Ben Carson

What this quotes significance is that we decide if we want to change our future. We all come from a family, we all know what it's like for us to want something but never get it. For some of us it is even more hard to support our family, we all have a path. We all have a path that leads us somewhere, but the thing is we never know when and where that path will lead us and end. We don’t know when it can end or where it leads. That is a mystery for us all, well for most of us anyways. But we all have one, the possibilities of where they might lead are endless. And that is a good thing, we don’t know our future. The best part in life is that you don’t take it somewhere unless you make the choice. Unless you say so it will keep leading to a path the is unknown. So unless you do something about it to change it, no one else will change it for you. You will have to take responsibility for your own future, it's not someone else's life, it's yours. You need to learn how to hold on to life when you're slipping, you take control. If you don’t you’ll fall and you will end up where you started. Work hard and it will pay off, do it for the people you care about and if not for them, then at least do it for yourselves.

Class Evaluation

Some things I like about this class are that we have free time if we are finished with everything. I also like that we get to learn new things like making a blog or making a google sheet.

Things I did not like about this class was that we had a certain amount of time in doing things and sometimes we would not be able to finish.

Recommendations for improving this class is to give more free time and get the students to try and search up different things not just careers. To make them learn different things and what's happening.

A highlight for me in this class was learning on typing tutorial, now my typing has improved.

Yes i did do my best in this class, i finished all my work and participated in class.

Yes i am reading my life planning goals journal everyday to remind myself of what i need to improve on.

Yes i am committed to being a CTR Person because I like to see people happy and not struggling.

Gainsville Tornadoes Reflection

I think that it was very generous for that the opposing team told the fans to cheer for the other team. It was really generous, considering that no one was cheering for their team. They wanted the other team to feel motivated, and these two boys made that happen. It was very thoughtful of them to ask their own fans to cheer for the other team so that the other team can feel motivated. The other team was very happy to here that almost everyone was cheering for them. They were thankful because of the two boys that helped them feel motivated. They said that it was something that they will never forget because it was something unexpected.

Homecoming

School Homecoming
1.Definition of homecoming- Homecoming is a dance, or other event in which alumni are invited. Usually in late September or October .

2. History of homecoming- The tradition of Homecoming has its origin in alumni football games held at colleges and universities since the 19th century. Homecoming started as a way to celebrate a banquet, football game, or on occasion ice hockey or soccer. Chester brewer invited all alumni to “come home” for a game in 1911.

3.We celebrate homecoming to welcome alumni back to the school

4. Events related to school homecoming-
  • Winter Formal
  • Prom
5. Why Homecoming game? They usually consists of a football game played  on the school’s home football field. A parade featuring the school’s marching band.

6. Homecoming Etiquette- you must dress in semi-formal attire. For males it's a suit,   females can wear anything from a dressy skirt to a cocktail dress.

My opinion on homecoming is not much. I don’t like to be involved in a place that is crowded and full of loud music.
